Slot games evaluate a symbol outcome under their own paytables. Defined paylines, ways or clusters determine eligible combinations; wild substitutions, scatter triggers and multiplier features exist only where the selected title specifies them.
Symbols, Paytables and Winning Patterns
A slot’s paytable defines what counts as a win. A payline game evaluates listed paths across the reels, while a ways game or cluster game uses its own matching rules. A screen full of the same theme does not tell the player which system is active. The starting reel, number of matching symbols and valid direction all matter.
For a simple hypothetical line game, three matching symbols on an active line can pay while three identical symbols scattered off that line do not. A scatter exception exists only when the rules define it. Wild symbols can substitute for specified regular symbols but may be excluded from scatter or jackpot symbols. Reading one symbol’s payout as the payout for every combination is also incorrect. The final result follows the active game’s full combination rules and total stake.
